Head of M&A
A high-impact role in a purpose-driven company
Want to make a real impact?
At Etac, we create solutions that improve quality of life. As a global leader in assistive devices and patient handling equipment, we are on an ambitious growth journey — both organically and through strategic acquisitions.
We are now seeking a senior strategic and operational lead of M&A to drive and execute Etac’s inorganic growth agenda. This is a high‑impact role where you will shape the future of our portfolio and contribute directly to Etac’s long‑term strategy. The role combines hands‑on transaction execution with strategic development and senior‑level collaboration.
Your Key Responsibilities
Hold a central role throughout M&A processes, with the level of involvement varying across phases- from target identification and outreach to due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and closing
Assess strategic fit, financial impact, risks, and operational synergies together with internal stakeholders and external advisors
Prepare investment cases, valuation materials, proposals, and board documentation for senior leadership and our owners, Nordstjernan
Support strategic partnerships and joint ventures, including deal structuring and governance
Build and maintain a pipeline of potential acquisition targets aligned with Etac’s long‑term strategy
Drive and coordinate post‑merger integration activities, ensuring delivery on plan, on budget, and in line with expected synergies
Continuously improve tools, frameworks, and processes related to M&A and partnerships to ensure best‑in‑class execution across all transactions
You will be part of the Group Finance organisation and work closely with Martin Önneflod, our CFO as well as the Business Development, the finance teams, and Group Management. You will also collaborate with our owners, Nordstjernan, and engage with external advisors such as investment bankers, consultants, and legal teams. Etac operates globally with strong roots in North America and Northern Europe.
Your profile
7-10 years of experience in M&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Management Consulting
Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
Proven track record of executing full‑cycle M&A transactions, ideally including post‑merger integration
Prior exposure to the North American market is a strong advantage
Experience working cross‑functionally and navigating complex decision‑making environments
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, combined with excellent business judgement
Fluent in English; Swedish is a strong advantage
You are results‑oriented, analytical, and commercially minded. You thrive in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments and demonstrate sound judgement and a proactive mindset. You communicate clearly, build trust easily, and enjoy working across cultures and functions while also being comfortable driving workstreams independently. You combine curiosity with structure and professionalism, and you naturally take ownership of your projects.
